Blackberry Farm's Pioneer Village
Blackberry Farm's Pioneer Village is a living history museum on grounds that contain over 200 varieties of trees, gardens, a lake, ponds, and a stream. There are five large museum collections in the Village including the Carriage House, the Farm Museum, the Early Streets Museum and the Huntoon House. They contain artifacts from the 19th century, and the Carriage collection houses 40 carriages, sleighs and commercial vehicles. The Streets Museum houses 11 late Victorian era exhibit stores including a music shop, a pharmacy, a general store, a photography shop and a toy store. There are many crafty demonstrations in the Village including blacksmithing, spinning, weaving, sewing & pottery. There's also a train ride, pony rides, an old hay wagon ride, a carousel ride and more to make your visit as fun as it can be!
Aurora Regional Fire Museum
The Aurora Regional Fire Museum is dedicated to preserve and exhibit the artifacts and history of Aurora and surrounding area fire departments, as well as teach and promote fire safety and prevention. It was opened October of 1968, and the museum was housed in the basement of Fire Station 4. Eventually the museum was moved into another Fire Station. They've got many exhibits, stories and artifacts to fascinate you and amaze you.
Sports in Aurora include swimming, volleyball, skating, softball, tennis, golf, basketball and more.
