Education Alternatives in Aurora, Illinois

As of 2005, there is no less then 40 public schools within the city limits of Aurora. The school districts with their headquarters within the city limits are Aurora Public Schools (West Side), Aurora Public Schools (East Side), and IPSD(Indian Prairie School District ). IPSD was formed in 1972, while the other two main districts have serves the Kane County, Illinois core location of Aurora since the 1860s. Some students attend other public schools such as Batavia, Illinois public schools, the Kaneland School district, or Oswego, Illinois public schools.
Also located in Aurora is the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA); a state-funded residential magnet school for grades 10 to 12. It's managed independently of the other public school systems in Aurora, Illinois, and young residents meeting the requirements of IMSA may apply for admission.

Aurora University
Aurora University is a private liberal arts college that offers four-year undergraduate, master's and doctoral degree programs. Aurora University has two campuses: the main campus in Aurora, Illinois and the George Williams campus in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. It was founded in 1893, and is now organized into three colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, and the College of Professional Studies.
